Notre voyage en Arabie saoudite avec un groupe inspirant d´entrepreneurs portugais a été tout simplement extraordinaire. Tout comme les explorateurs intrépides des siècles passés, nous sommes ici pour découvrir de nouvelles opportunités et renforcer les liens entre le Portugal et le Moyen-Orient.
Ce voyage a été guidé de main de maître par M. Abílio Alagoa da Silva, président du Conseil d´affaires luso-saoudien, dont la vision et le dévouement ont ouvert la porte à des conversations significatives et à des partenariats stratégiques. À ses côtés se trouve son extraordinaire ami et homologue, M. Alwali Albaltan, président du Conseil d´affaires saoudo-portugais, dont l´hospitalité chaleureuse et le soutien indéfectible ont rendu notre expérience vraiment mémorable.
Hier, nous avons eu l´honneur d´être reçus à l´ambassade du Portugal par l´ambassadeur Nuno Mathias lui-même, un hôte gracieux qui représente le pont entre nos deux nations avec élégance et perspicacité. Son accueil chaleureux a été la conclusion parfaite d´une journée remplie d´inspiration et d´apprentissage.
Earlier that day, we visited the Sondo Group, a leading company in the Kingdom headed by the remarkable CEO, Ms. Tarfah Almutairi. Her leadership and vision are a testament to the impressive transformation taking place in Saudi Arabia today. Through her eyes, we gained a deeper understanding of how women in the Kingdom are stepping into leadership roles with confidence and making a significant impact on business and society.
We also had the pleasure of visiting the Ibrahim Al Howishel Law Firm, whose team welcomed us with great enthusiasm and openness. Their support for the Portuguese-Saudi Arabian Business Council since its inception has been invaluable. It was inspiring to see their commitment to facilitating business growth and their readiness to answer all our questions with professionalism and insight.
What we are witnessing in Saudi Arabia is nothing less than a profound transformation, a nation embracing change and opening its doors to the world. The opportunities that exist here are vast, and they are waiting to be explored and seized by those with the vision and courage to embrace them.
Yet, what has truly touched us during this trip is not just the business potential but the extraordinary hospitality, the richness of the culture, and the depth of traditions that shape Saudi society. Often misunderstood or overlooked in the West, Saudi culture reveals a warmth, generosity, and resilience that leaves us deeply impressed.
Equally inspiring has been the privilege of traveling alongside such an outstanding group of Portuguese entrepreneurs. Their stories, achievements, and passion for their work deserve recognition and applause. They carry with them the spirit of Portugal, a small country on the western edge of Europe that has given the world Cristiano Ronaldo, José Mourinho, and countless others who have left their mark on the global stage.
It is a privilege to be part of this mission, showcasing to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the world, what Portugal is capable of achieving. Together, we are building bridges of understanding and opportunity, setting the stage for a new era of collaboration and growth.
